Jamel D. Chambers was born June 3, 1997 in Chicago, IL, to the proud parents of James and Jemille D. Chambers. From a very young age, Jamel has always had a passion for service in public interest. At the tender age of 6, he began accompanying his mother on her weekly community service outings. Jamel Attended Urban Prep Charter Academy For Young Men n the Chicago’s Southside neighborhood for High School, an all black male charter high school that is well known for its 100% college acceptance. Here, he was a member of the football team, baseball team, track & field team, and Class vice president. Upon graduating from Urban Prep, he was fortunate enough to receive the Bill Gates Scholarship and enrolled in Morehouse College, making him a fourth generation Man of Morehouse in his family. Jamel has never faltered in the face of any obstacle placed before him. In fact, after being told no serval times, he co-founder a boxing club on campus, affectionally known as the AUC Boxing Club, which was later charted in his sophomore year. Running a boxing club is just a small aspect to Jamel’s campus involvement: He is a Senator at large for Morehouse’s SGA, a Morehouse College Presidential Ambassador, and a Recent inductee into Morehouse College chapter of Sigma Alpha Pi. In addition to his educational and community credentials, Jamel is a Golden Glove Champion and Boxing Junior Olympian, and is working towards a spot on the 2020 USA Boxing Olympics Team. Jamel has already constructed his 25 year plan upon graduating from Morehouse. Subsequently to Morehouse, he has goals of enrolling in law school, where after he plans to practice as a Civil Rights attorney.There after, he will run for a political office, where his ultimate desired seat is to be the Mayor of Chicago.
